Golapganj Chaumuhani by bus or autorickshaw from late and from there by auto-rickshaw to Dhaka South Bazar, within 400 meters of the market you can walk or rickshaw to the house and temple of Sri Chaitanya Dev. Bus fare from Sylhet to Chaumuhani - 20 Taka, CNG powered autorickshaw fare - 25 Taka Bus fare from Chaumuhani to Dhaka South Bazar - 10 Taka, CNG powered autorickshaw fare 15 Taka.

Details

The ancestral home of Sri Chaitanya, the great devotee and reformer of Vaishnavism in the subcontinent, was located at Mishrapara village in Dhaka South Union of Golapganj Upazila. The temple was built here in the middle of the eighteenth century on the initiative of the then Dewan Golab Ram of Sylhet. Thousands of tourists visit this temple every year as a historical pilgrimage site for Hindus. Every Sunday in the month of Chaitra of the Bengali year, fairs and religious festivals are held here to mark the birth date of Sri Chaitanya.
